The CeeBee Hardware Bridge: Native Software for Radio Integration

A separate C++/Qt project connects radio audio or an RTL-SDR receiver to the CeeBee network.

The CeeBee Radio Bridge is a separate native C++/Qt project for connecting selected radio hardware to the network. It offers two explicit receive paths: audio from a radio through an audio interface, or direct input from an RTL-SDR device through librtlsdr.

The direct SDR path includes demodulation and squelch in the bridge. The documented receive modes include FM, AM, USB and LSB. The native client does not depend on a separate rtl_fm process or a Python runtime, although Python tools are used in parts of the build and download workflow.

Receive and transmit are independent choices. An RTL-SDR device is a receiver, not a transmitter. Optional transmission requires a separate radio, an explicitly selected audio output and a configured PTT interface. Transmission is disabled by default. The project includes mechanisms intended to release PTT on stale state or excessive transmit duration.

The same native core is used for graphical and command-line operation. The source includes Linux and Raspberry Pi build instructions and Windows build support, but support in the source tree should not be confused with verified operation on every platform. Windows execution and complete physical hardware and audio paths still require their respective tests.

This bridge expands the engineering scope of CeeBee, while remaining distinct from normal browser listening. Anyone connecting real transmitting equipment must establish the appropriate hardware setup and operating conditions for that equipment and location. The project does not turn an internet channel selection into automatic permission to transmit over the air.
